World heritage sites in Nepal

Nepal has many beautiful sites and places. And from all those ten are recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. The ten recognized world heritage sites Lumbini, Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Kathmandu darbar square, swyambhunath, Boudhnath, Pashupatinath, changunaryan, Chitwan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Taleju Mandir, Nine storeys Basantapur Tower, Degutale Temple, Nasal Chowk Hanuman Dhoka, Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple, Mul Chowk, Tribhuvan Museum, Kal Bhairab temple, Mohan Chowk, King Mahendra Memorial Museum, Sundari Chowk and Tribhuvan Museum, these all are present in Kathmandu Dubar square. Hanuman Dhoka, former Royal Palace of the Malla kings, was passed onto the Shah dynasty, later. Till 1886, the royal family lived in the Hanuman Dhoka Palace. This palace is still used for ceremonial and ritual occasions. Inside this palace, a new King is crowned. To the left of the enter ace of the, there is a 17th-century statue of Hanuman and a fantastic sculpture Narasimha.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

It is regarded as the abode of ancient Nepali custom, culture, and beautiful art pieces of perfect craftsmanship. Each historical monument represents medieval custom, culture, and religious. This place is untouched by western culture. Bhaktapur is the only one place in Nepal which has remained untouched by western culture.

Patan Durbar Square

Patan is also called Lalitpur. There are many great people attached to the origin of the term, Lalitpur. The major attractions are Golden temple or Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, Jagat Narayan Temple, Mahaboudha, Patan Durbar Square, Krishna Temple, Kumbeshwor temple, Pillar of Yognarendra Malla, Vishwanath temple, Hari Shanker temple, Mahavihar, Mulchowk, Pillar of Yognarendra Malla, Mani Mandap, Minnath, Marga Hiti, Bhimsen temple, Café Pagoda, Rato Machhendra Temple, Rudra Varna Mahavihar etc.

Swayambhunath

It is believed that Swaymabhunath was an island first and later a stupa was built. Buddhists regard swayambhunath as the holiest place. You can have a dazzling view of the entire Kathmandu valley from here.

Pashupatinath

Pashupatinath temple belongs to Lord Shiva and is considered to be one of the holiest places for Hindus. It is established on the bank of Bagmati River. It has a two-tiered roof and four silver doors—devotees from all over the world visit this place.

Boudhanath

It is a popular belief that after the demise of a guru of Buddhism, Buddha in the 14th century, Boudhnath was built. Its beauty and peace make it more famous. In this stupa, a giant dome sits on the top of the Buddhist pyramid tower.

Changunarayan

Fifteen kilometres away from Kathmandu city, Changunaryan is a two-tiered temple. It is named so as it is the temple of Lord Vishnu, Narayana is near Changu. In the vicinity of Changunarayan temple, temples of Chinnamasta Devi and Kileswar Shiva and other gods and goddesses are also present. You can see the Manohara River from this temple.

Lumbini

Lying in the southern Terai plains of Nepal it is in approximately 300 kilometres Southwest of Kathmandu. This is the birthplace of Buddha, Buddhist guru and is, therefore, holds an important place for Buddhists. And it is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Not only religious and historical, but it also has great cultural significance. Tara foundation, China Temple, Nepal Buddha Temple, Thai Monastery, Lumbini Garden, World peace pagoda, Maya Devi Temple, and Dharmaswami Buddhist monastery are the attractive most places of Lumbini. For Buddhism, a museum and a research centre are also there as it is a house of a large variety of unique and rare bird species as it is an ideal birding destination. In Lumbini, many good restaurants and lodges are also available.

Chitwan National Park

Spread in an area of 932 sq. kilometres, Chitwan National Park lies in the inner Terai belt of Chitwan. You will have the opportunity to come across the rarest and the unique species of the ecosystem. The lake of this park will make your encounter with crocodiles, and this will make it more adventurous. And you will be guided on a cultural tour whose primary focus will be the lifestyles of Chitwan people while staying in one of the resorts of the part. You can participate in the exotic most events of choice in the evening and at night.

Sagarmatha National Park

Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, Sagarmatha National Park is spread in an area of 1,148 sq. kilometres. You will experience the most mesmerising valleys, Beautiful river, magnificent glaciers, and beautiful mountains. The park is a house to a large variety of plant species, birds and animals. Plant species like birch, silver fir, blue pine, and, rhododendrons, etc., magnifies the beauty of the park. You might also see rare species like lynx, snow leopard, and pandas, etc. on venturing into the garden. And if you love birds, watching rare and unique birds like snow pigeon, snow cock and pheasant, etc. Saying Sagarmatha National Park, the storehouse of Himalayan natural resources will not be wrong.
